What is long COVID?

What is long COVID, and what are the symptoms?

According to The Royal Society, an exact definition does not exist. They say that long COVID can have a severely disabling effect on people of any age. Reported symptoms include anosmia, severe fatigue, reduced exercise capacity, palpitations, brain fog, headache, and breathlessness.

The NHS says, ‘For some people, coronavirus (COVID-19) can cause symptoms that last weeks or months after the infection has gone. This is sometimes called post-COVID-19 syndrome or ‘long COVID’.

Long COVID is a real problem affecting thousands of people of all ages.
Approximately 1 in 10 people with COVID-19 continue to experience symptoms beyond 12 weeks.

There are four research studies funded by the government to try to better understand and address the longer-term effects of COVID on physical and mental health. The government is investing millions into it because it is so serious.

🩺 So the medical community does not have the solutions yet, but do we have the luxury of waiting for medical research findings for 3 years?

🤦🏼‍♀️ This can make us feel depressed, and for some people stuck.

♿️ Chronic illness and health conditions are very difficult to get to grips with.

What can you do?

So, in the meantime, there is plenty you can do to help yourself, with professional guidance and support:

🚀 Nutrition, food, and a better lifestyle combined can all significantly improve our immune health. We need this if we have had COVID, cancer, or any other illness.

🚀 Our immune system is responsible for helping us fight off infection. A healthy immune system helps us feel vital, energetic and, alive, so we are ready to take up new challenges. This is in addition to simply being able to carry out everyday tasks.

🚀 It’s not about looking good in a bikini (but improving your nutrition, lifestyle and mindset will have that side-effect;).

Nutrition and Lifestyle

There are specific foods, superfoods, and activities you can introduce into your daily routine which give your immune system an extra Va Va Voom. They have been shown to increase the levels of antioxidants in your blood and offset free radicals – (free radicals cause damage to our cells, proteins, and DNA).

We need more antioxidants and fewer free radicals.

We want to have as strong an immune system as possible.

What is health anyway?

🦠 Having good health doesn’t mean simply having an absence of disease.

💕 One of the best gifts you can give yourself is a healthy re-boot with a Nutritionist.

💕 One of the best things you can remind yourself of is that change is possible.

💕 What do you need to know to improve and strengthen your immune system?

I’m here to help you, your loved ones, and friends who really care about you and want the very best for you.
