So many people want to feel better, and they know losing weight will be one of the best things they can do. However, it’s frustrating trying to lose the same ten pounds every year – and then putting it on again, often with interest. Or maybe just putting on weight each passing year until you look back and realise that you were thin when you started.

People feel like a bit of a failure but then, they make a decision and start to feel better pretty much straight away!

But, I hate to burst your bubble, but sxxx happens.

There WILL be a bump in the road. People start to feel so much better –  more in control like they know what needs to be done and they are making the changes, but their minds can play tricks on them. They will then say, I feel so much healthier anyway. A client might say – actually I don’t want to lose weight. Or a circumstance – like a shocking bereavement (in fact all bereavements are a shock no matter how well you think you may have prepared for them) will come up and those good intentions fall away because it feels too hard.

People are coming up against fears and resist change all the time as it puts them out of their comfort zone. Our primary need is to feel safe and secure.

Maybe their husband or daughter made a comment which really triggered them and made them feel bad or guilty.

It’s ok.

Life is a series of bumps in the road.

Last week I had a bereavement in my family. She was very close to me. Her last words were “I love you”.

It’s normal. There is a time for birth and a time for death. On the flip side, someone I know has a daughter who is expecting a baby very soon.

🙈 It’s ok to feel uncomfortable with the feelings.

And it’s not helpful to hide or live in denial.

I can offer you a brilliant strategy, in keeping with this month’s topic!

SMILE! 😁

Even if inside you feel like crying, hiding, worrying or, procrastinating.

Do more of what makes you happy. (I have this on a plaque on my wall!)

Happiness comes from within, not at the bottom of a bag of crisps or bar of chocolate. (Although some chocolate is very healthy).
